Finding The Right Therapist

Finding the right therapist is just as important as finding the right primary care physician, dentist and investment banker.


These are some steps to help lead you in the right direct and hopefully towards Tranquil Waters Counseling and Renewal Center:


1. Get a referral from a trusted friend, family, or your healthcare professional.

2. Call the therapist and introduce yourself - see if it's a good fit based on this first interaction.

3. Listen to your gut.

4. Find out if the therapist has training and experience in the area that you need.

5. Make and appointment and keep the appointment. Hopefully you will know on this first visit if there is a fit.

6. Remember: it's okay to shop around until you meet the therapist that's just right for you.
